This was actually a trip made around July last year, but due to my own unparalleled procrastination I never made the time to write the article down. But! Here's the lowdown on the underrated star of a cafe in Dasmariñas City, Cavite: Sari Cafe!
If the flag ain't yankee enough, I don't know what else in this meal isn't! |
My first trip there was just an ocular, to get a taste of what the store offers. The branch I visited was the one near La Salle Dasmariñas, instead of the main branch in the city proper. I found the place quiet and easy on the eyes with just the local "downtown" approach to design, a good mood-setter for those wanting to just dine at ease.
The staff was accommodating and gave you just enough attention. I ordered their classic cheeseburger, and a cup of coffee. The serving was big enough to fill me up for a heavy afternoon snack. The burger is just "the right kind" of minimum oily, just enough to remind you that it's beef. The patty was seared well and the bread had just the right amount of soft and crunch to it too. The fries could use a bit more size, but maybe it's just being used to the much bigger potatoes of SNR that got me wanting. It was a great first time.
It was also all a setup though :)
I went back there to treat a very special person. This time, we ordered more food: we got their longganiza pizza, and some lasagna. We had a platter of fries as well and more coffee!
The pasta was piping hot. It took us some time to finish- the cheese was delightfully oozing with each bite, and the pasta just the al dente kind of soft. On the other hand, the pizza was a little burnt - not to a crisp, but some parts were definitely a little too crunchy.
It was a Sunday weekend and so there were more people and there was less space to move around. It was lively, but not rowdy. The place is definitely one that's recommendable if you're living near Dasmariñas City.
