Lakbayin #3: A Synapse Trip from a Citrus Fill to Across the Universe

Daydreaming has been my hobby for a long time.
It's unhealthy, sure, and is probably a good (or bad?) sign of a mental illness or something.
I don't know, maybe I'm a little depressed.
or as the old Matchbox Twenty song puts it,
a little unwell.

I've been dreaming of an adventure, the kind that sounds a little like a trip across Middle-Earth...
with sights like this, who needs a desk job?*

But not literally of course. I mean, New Zealand. And lots more odd terrain in other parts of the world that's full of life... or death.

So far this has only been the start of my newfound-frustration (or dream): travel, nature and wildlife photography. I'm not sure when it started, but I guess it had to do with sitting behind a desk for 8 hours a day imagining things "out of the box" and getting crammed into it anyway.

Let's face it: most of the time the choices we think we make aren't actually because we wanted things to be like that; rather, we are faced with making choices because circumstances forced us to. In the end, it's hard to figure whether we're only justifying that choice or that "it just so happened." Either way, we only think of getting success in the end. But that's not the point of this post, at least for now.

A luxury, seeing simple things like this.

Travel is a luxury for many in this ill-burdened country of mine. Like most of my comrades in the middle class, we are given free reign over the food we choose to eat - but getting a roof over our head, and getting to where we want to... is not so easily achieved. Somehow, some get lucky; in my case, I'm lucky my bosses are really great people. I get to places without asking for it; but then again, those aren't my choice. So it's still kind of lucky that I get the luxury of travel without the "necessary expenses."

That's where I make the most out of it.

Spin, shells of doom!

There's a different definition of "golden nugget" here.

A common, and a rare sight altogether.

One day, I'm taking the high road to exciting destinations free to explore their richness.

Where two blues meet - or greys.

I still imagine a hot sexy lady in a flaming chariot coming down from the sky in this scene.

Free to wander through perilous courses teeming with bursting colors and dreary darkness, ever ready to face the known unknown.

ol' VVG would've painted this if he saw it.

The Lonely Isle

The Lonely Isle, lit by Telperion I mean the moon
Billowing magnificence.

Or just lounging by the familiar facades of places longing for a visit, with friendly breezes whispering through sunlit corridors-- or a plaza of grandiose scales molded by hands who knew no corruption.

Soon enough, a T-Rex's head will appear from the treeline.

If rocks could smile, I will run away.

No rain in this parade so far.

The Persians were on leave, lucky you Leonidas.

Someone pissed a certain "Ororo" off, perhaps.

All is well until you come to realize the adventure was a but a fleeting moment of your short, meaningless life.

But then again that's where you put meaning to it. And for that, I'm still thankful.
If cowboys could swim to the setting sun, I'll probably take a boat.

But the dream ends here, and so I'm forced to make a choice.
